With travel restrictions easing up, more and more people are now traveling again. It helps to keep track of the items we carry during our trips, ensuring we carry enough of what we need.   If you love skincare and makeup but don't know which of your favorites to pack during your travels, this quick guide might help narrow down your essentials for year-round travels.

Packing Light: Makeup and Skincare

If you have limited space for carrying your makeup and skincare essentials and you only carry a couple of products, here is a quick rundown of essential items that you might want to consider taking with you on your travels.

Sunscreen

Whether you're up in the mountains or at the beach, you will need an SPF-proof sunscreen that can protect your skin from harmful UV rays and sun damage. Find a broad-spectrum sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 or higher. You also might want to find one that's waterproof and sweat-resistant as well for extended use.

Facial Wipes

Moisturizer

Moisturizer helps to keep the skin well-hydrated through the day so it's essential to combat dryness and any possible breakouts.

Facial Mist

Facial Cleanser

Tinted Sunscreen or Tinted Moisturizer

You’ll be protecting your skin and get a good amount of coverage on the side, too. If you’re getting a regular moisturizer, opt for a tinted sunscreen and vice versa.

Full Coverage Powder

Skip out on carrying a foundation and concealer and opt for this instead when you’re on the go. This will help you save on space and provide extra coverage if the tinted sunscreen or moisturizer isn’t enough.

Multi-Use Products

It’s advisable to have at least three shades of your choice that can include a pink, brown, and orange shade so you have variety regarding color choice.

Mascara & A Trusty Lash Curler

Images from BeautyMNL[/caption]   It’s great to carry a mascara that’s waterproof, sweat proof, and has volumizing or lengthening properties. Since you’ll be moving a lot, you will need mascara that won’t smudge throughout the day. Of course, you would also need a lash curler to come with your mascara so you get your lashes perked up before mascara.

Makeup Brushes and Sponges

Images from OVW Brushes[/caption]   In terms of makeup sponges or beauty blenders, it’s advisable to carry at least two so you can ensure that your items are clean before use. In terms of brushes, opt for double-ended brushes so you can save on space but still have the functionality that you’ll need.

Less is More: Choose Skincare Over Makeup

This is a question of preference, as there are those that will prioritize makeup over skincare and vice versa. However, reconsider this as skincare is much more important than makeup when you’re on the go or when you’re traveling.   While traveling, you bare your skin to many elements that could cause skin problems. You’ll be heading to new environments and more often, be more exposed to the sun and your skin might have difficulty adjusting to its new environment. Hence, there is a need to prioritize skincare over makeup while traveling so that you can protect your skin.   Traveling is one of the most exciting experiences that one can go through because you’ll be introduced to new places, new people, and enjoy different cultures. But of course, it’s also important to take care of your skin while you’re exploring - hence, don’t forget to pack your makeup and skincare essentials when you’re out and about to ensure that you won’t be having any skin problems while traveling.
