What makes the spooky season special in a predominantly Catholic country? And how did Halloween become culturally mainstream in the Philippines? 

 

Halloween is one of the most celebrated seasons that Filipinos look forward to every year. While Filipinos are traditionally known for being family-oriented and spiritual, Halloween is one of those times when Filipinos reconnect with family and friends and even visit departed loved ones at the cemetery during All Saints Day and All Souls Day for example, which is something that makes the Halloween season even more meaningful and special besides being filled with the yearly spooks, creative costumes, parties, and tricks or treats which has become mainstream and the “new norm” in the Philippines when celebrating the spooky season.

The party that was graced by the queens of Drag Race Philippines had show-stopping performances from Marina Summers, Eva Le Queen, Minty Fresh, Viñas Deluxe, and Brigiding, along with Maxie Andreison and Lady Gagita, and celebrated Halloween with their grandest outfits. The party was located at 500 Shaw Zentrum, Shaw Blvd. at Mandaluyong City.

A one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration dedicated to Filipino K-Pop fans as they sang and danced their night away with their favorite artists: South Korean artists CL, Epik High, PENTAGON, KARD, Gaho x Kave, and DJ SODA, along with P-Pop group BGYO, and brought together by PULP Live World and Happee Hour - located at the Mall of Asia Arena, SM Mall of Asia Complex, J.W. Diokno Blvd. at Pasay City.

A Poblacion favorite back on the scene located at Nokal, Makati Cinema Square, Legazpi Village, Makati City. With everyone having the time of their lives during the spooky season, they were graced by the Disco Inferno Halloween Ball with DJs Coox Moreno, Manolet Dario, and Jason Soong in keeping the party running.

A Halloween festivity that was celebrated by many along with live bands, DJ sets, trick-or-treating, games, raffles, and a costume party in store for the evening last October 27 (Thursday) located at Cubao Expo, Quezon City.
