Bookworms, unite!   The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is once again upon us.   Happening on September 15 to 18, 2022 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City, Manila’s largest and longest-running book fair will once again redefine the reading experience with the largest collection of reading materials ranging from magazines, books, comics, educational aids, and allied materials.   The MIBF showcases over 50 engaging events that are both for publishers and consumers. Apart from retail stalls, there are also many interactive activities for all ages to enjoy. That said, here’s a quick rundown of the exciting activities you wouldn’t want to miss at this year’s MIBF.

School World

  Image from MIBF[/caption]   School World is MIBF's newest co-located event that showcases and offers school must-haves from the needs of the school down to student essentials. School World is a one-stop shop for teaching professionals, students, school administrators, and working adults. They also provide school-related products and services including uniforms, furniture, equipment, and information technology systems.  

Meet & Greets

  Image from MIBF[/caption]   Book signings and meet & greets are a staple of MIBF. This year boasts an impressive line-up of authors, including those from Bliss Books and the San Anselmo Press. The event will also bring in multi-awarded Norwegian authors HÃ¥kon ØvreÃ¥s and Kristin Roskifte for a meet & greet as well as a book signing session.   

Talks & Workshops

Some talks at this year's MIBF include Publishing Opportunities with Malaysian University Presses, Ugnayan ng Salita: Danas at Akda sa Panahon ng Pandemya, and Behind the Stories: Heart-to-Heart Conversations with Authors. It's best to familiarize yourself with the talks and workshops that you would want to attend, as some of them will happen simultaneously in different areas of the convention center.  

Book Launches

  What is a book fair without the thrill of being introduced to a new masterpiece? MIBF has a roster of book launches that will happen throughout the event's three-day run. They range from book launches to campaign launches that are both thrilling and exciting to experience. Book Shopping Galore

The event is home to a comprehensive collection of books for sale, with exclusive deals you can only get during the event. You can also get your hands on exclusive items, including the limited edition 32nd Anniversary commemorative cover of Dr. Ambeth R. Ocampo’s “Rizal Without the Overcoat”.   The Manila International Book Fair is a great place for bookworms, writing professionals, and members of the academe to convene and share their mutual love of books.
